Are you travelling with your own bike and need transport home from either Gdańsk or Copenhagen?
In that case, the easiest option is to take the ferry between Gdynia and Karlskrona (10 hours) operated by Stena Line, and the train between Karlskrona and Copenhagen (3.5 hours)
Travelling with your bicycle on a train in Denmark is easy. You just have to buy a bicycle ticket which includes a reservation. From Copenhagen you have two options for your return trip to Germany or Poland: You can either take the direct train to Hamburg or Berlin, from where you have connections to Rostock or Gdańsk. Or you can take a train to Nykøbing Falster, from where a bus will take you to the Gedser-Rostock ferry. Find and book your journey on dsb.dk, bahn.de or intercity.pl
You can also travel one way by bus. FlixBus operates daily between Copenhagen and Gdańsk.
Please note that spaces for bicycles sell out quickly.
Scandlines operates the crossing between Gedser (DK) and Rostock (DE) with many daily departures. If you come by bicycle, remember to buy a ticket for your bike at the harbour. It is not possible to do it online in advance, but there is always enough space. You will board the ferry together with the other vehicles. Check the timetable on scandlines.dk
In Denmark, there is only one ferry crossing on the stage: the ferry Ida, which sails between Bogø and Falster. Ida sails from May 1 to September 15 and during the fall holidays (week 42). At other times, cyclists must cross via the Storstrøm Bridge, which connects Zealand and Falster. See timetable and prices on idasvenner.dk
In Poland there is one ferry crossing from Świnoujście town centre to Świnoujście Warszów. The ferry is free for cyclists and runs regularly all year around.
